Data retention
How to delete your Maya Migrate account, and how long we keep each kind of data.
Last updated October 25, 2026
Deleting your account
- Sign in, in the Maya Migrate app or at mayamigrate.com/login.
- Open your profile.
- Choose Delete account, and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
It removes your account and sign-in identity, your profile and preferences, your case data, your family and its records, and the emergency contact email addresses held on our server. The names and relationships of your emergency contacts are never on our servers to delete — they are stored encrypted on your device alone.
Two things outlive the account, because neither records who they belong to: Digital Rapid Response alert events and application logs, both deleted within 30 days.
An account with other people in its family cannot be deleted until they are removed.
If you cannot sign in, write to contact@mayamigrate.com from the address you signed up with and we will delete the account for you.
How long we keep each kind of data
| Data | How long we keep it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account & profile | Until you delete your account | Needed to run your account |
| Family data | Until the family is deleted | Members can delete their own account; the family admin can delete everything |
| Emergency contact emails (on our server) | Until you remove the contact or delete your account | Kept so you can reconfigure Digital Rapid Response without re-adding them |
| Emergency contacts on your device | Stored only on your device; wiped automatically when an alert fires | This data never reaches our servers |
| Location autocomplete (state & county) | Queries are not stored; only the state and county you save are kept (see Account & profile) | Suggestions are fetched from our maps provider as you type; we keep only your saved selection |
| Digital Rapid Response alert events | 30 days | For debugging the alert system — recorded anonymously, with no record of who |
| Application logs | 30 days | For debugging |
